The Slow as Molasses Techniques to Increase on Line Traffic to your Website

Monday, January 25th, 2010

How many people are online? According to Internet World Stats, the figure is well over 1 billion. And all you need to be successful with your internet business is for a small fraction of these people to visit your pages and check out your offer. No matter how many posts you will see in the various internet marketing forums, every few days (if that) someone will pose the same question. “How do I increase traffic to my website”? .

This can seem like a difficult task considering how many other web sites are out there. In July 2007 survey, Netcraft received responses from over one hundred and twenty five million websites; that was a one month increase of over three and a half million new web sites. While these numbers are daunting, keep in mind you are not competing with every site on the internet.

There are many ways to increase on line traffic. Three in particular have proven to be extremely effective. The only problem is they are not going to bring you more web site traffic overnight or the next night or even the night after that but they do work 1. Directory link Submission

There are thousands of web directories online. You can always find a company that will make directory link submissions for you at a fair price but even these places will not cover them all. If however you decide to do it yourself then you have got a long, tedious job ahead of you.

So why do it? Back links. Web directories are an effective way to get tons of incoming links to your site. This in turn leads to a higher page rank from the search engines. Keep in mind also that search engines are suspicious of any website that experiences a sudden spike in its traffic. Directory link submission allows you to increase web traffic more naturally which is more to their liking and your benefit.

2. Web Site Traffic Exchange

You sit there surfing and clicking until you feel as if you were born with carpal tunnel syndrome. You have also heard that a web site traffic exchange is useless so what is the point? The point is they are only useless to those people who do not know what they are doing. Do not use a web site traffic exchange to sell your product. Instead use them to capture leads for building your mailing list. Once people sign up to your opt in mailing list, then you can start sending them emails with snippets of information and a link pointing toward your website. This maybe a round about way for you to increase web traffic but in the process you are also building a responsive email marketing list. You may have to do a lot of clicking when you are just starting out but down the road it can pay off quite handsomely.

3. Reciprocal linking

Ugh. First you need to do a search to find a website in your niche. Than you have to make sure the site is not in direct competition with you. After that compose a personalized email to the webmaster requesting a link exchange, then wait for a response. Rinse and repeat. It is not worth the effort right? Wrong. Search engines take reciprocal links into consideration when determining your page rank. Yes back links are more valuable but a good from a high ranking website is still important. If you decide to go the reciprocal link route then try to at least trade with websites that are within your niche.

No these methods will not win any awards for speed, but that is the whole point. You are going to run across many ads that guarantee you overnight traffic. Very few if any can keep that promise. Besides you are building a business for the long haul. Just be patient and consistent in utilizing these techniques and you will get more web site traffic before you know it.

Want Web Traffic? Leanne reviews

Wednesday, January 20th, 2010

If you are in business the most important thing you’ll want to do is get traffic to your site. To do this without spending anything on advertising is the ‘holy grail’ of internet marketing. Leanne Griffiths review’s one such program.

By now, you’ve probably heard all about it – I mean, it’s all over the forums, and the Alexa ranking for this site is insane right now.

It is important you compare products and prices becuase you can get ripped off there are many scams out there that do not deliver what they promise.

The Affiliate Code claims to show you step by step via video tutorial how to generate free web traffic. But does it deliver what it promises? I put it to the test and let me tell you I was surprised at the outcome. Let me tell you why.

There are other programs out there that will help you with getting web traffic (either buying web traffic or SEO optimization)which I have purchased and tested but let me say I am no technical wizard by any means and I had to ask for a refund for many due the complexity of the programs and the lack of support or help. (I will refrain from sharing them here as it is not appropriate as this was my own personal experience but I would be happy to talk to anyone directly. Some of the better products out there are 7 Figure Marketing School and Triaffiliates. These also work and are inexpesive ways or getting your business listed organically in google.

So I purchased Michael Jones’s Affiliate Code to report back to my clients on the effectiveness of the program. The program costs between $57-$77 USD (it does have and exit pop up which discounts the price. FYI – The discount you get is $20 which makes this product good value for money.

Now I have to say I was skeptical, I’ve been around and spent a lot of money (some good investments some not so good) on programs like this. For me the best thing about the program is he actually takes you step by step through the training of HOW TO actually generate free traffic to your website.

He tells you WHAT to do, show you HOW to do it and then shows you a live example of implementing this method from start to finish. So for me that was great and it was actually very interesting and he kept me engaged with a little humor thrown in too. (I like talking to people and presenting and writing but start talking about meta tags, back links, SER, SEO and my eyes start glazing over!)

The training is excellent and motivates you to implement it and I did try this technique on one of my websites (I really need help with sales at the time!)

In about 24 hours I had double the amount traffic going my site www.7figmarkschool.com and in 48 hours I had tripled my sales from the same time the week before.

BUT there is a downside folks. My website actually crashed (well my server did) and it took me a day to fix so I lost sales during that period and I am not too happy with that. I sent feedback to Michael that he should warn people that massive traffic means pressure on the sever and you much (please hear me when I a say this) you MUST check with the people who manage your server (where your website sits on) and double check the amount of traffic it can manage. Talk to your server/website people that within days and weeks you could have massive traffic to the site and ensure the server can handle that. The other benefit of using this program is to generate organic listings for your website. You do not appear in the sponsor ads section which many people who are searching for something ignore anyway.

My tips for ensuring you get the most out of this program:

1. Take your time and DON’T SKIP any of the training – you may think you know and did learn a lot even though I thought I had all the answers. So become a student and learn and take notes during the tutorial.

2. Use the tools he gives you – you can download an excel file which is completely formatted with calculations and analytics that will save you hours and hours of work. Don’t reinvent the wheel!

3. If you don’t’ understand something you can email Michael (the support is fantastic) and he will respond.

4. Try it on your website and ensure you action this. Very important you need to know how it works and then once your making sales with your business due to the traffic generated to your site you can outsource this and it shows you how to do this to.

In conclusion using Michael Jones’s Affiliate Code will generate free web traffic to your website and it will get you on the front page of Google and Yahoo but you MUST follow my advice above or it will become just another bit of software gathering dust in your office draw!

Increase Traffic to your Website – the Basics

Tuesday, January 19th, 2010

There are plenty of ways to bring traffic to your website. Some are free and some cost money. A few can cost a lot of money depending on the topic of your website.

Let’s start with the FREE ways to drive traffic to your website:

1. Directory traffic: This is traffic brought to your site because someone found you in a directory using a search engine, such as Google or Yahoo. There are plenty of smaller directories too. You should submit your site to as many directories as you can. There are some directories that charge money to be listed or for a premium place in their directory. I have not found that paying for these services brings in more traffic to my site, but others say it helps a lot. To bring in traffic from a search engine, you need to make your site search engine friendly. This is often referred to as SEO or search engine optimization. I have plenty of free tips and articles to help you with SEO for your site.

2. Banner exchange: You can make a banner for your website and exchange it with other sites. The easiest way to exchange is to join an exchange site. My favorite is LinkBuddies and they have been around awhile. They even have a free banner creator. There are more free banner creators on the web. The most common size is 468×80. For a link exchange through a service, you just put some html into your site where the banner will go and the banners from other websites in the exchange are loaded onto your page each time someone views it. Each time a banner is shown, you earn credit towards having your banner shown on other sites. At LinkBuddies, your banner is shown once for each two banners shown on your site. The nice thing is that you can put a banner on each page, so credits add up quickly. If you are just starting out and need some traffic quickly, you can additional credits, but this is not required. At LinkBuddies you get 500 free impressions of your banner when you sign up.

3. Forums: Join some forums related to the topic of your website, or other topics you are just really interested in. Post and respond to other posts. Answer some questions. Once you are actively participating in the forum, put a link to your site in your signature if it is allowed. Be sure to include it in your forum profile.

4. Blogs: Setting up a blog is free. Blog about your topic. Make comments in other blogs that are relevant to your topic. Make good contacts and exchange links between your blog and someone else’s.

5. Exchange text links: This can help with your search engine ranking as well as bring in some traffic. But don’t just exchange links with anyone out there. Exchange links with sites that will be of interest to the people who read your site. Links to relevant pages are always better than just a link to another site for the sake of having a link. Make sure that your links page is easily accessible from the main page of your site.

6. Email: Make sure to include a link to your site in your personal email signature.

7. Offline: Is your website part of your business? Put it on your business card, stationary, flyers, etc.

There are also paid methods of bringing in more traffic to your site:

1. PPC: Paid-per-click ads can be a quick way to bring in traffic. Popular programs are Google’s Adwords, Yahoo’s Search Marketing, MSN’s ad service and 7search. There are plenty of other programs too. The lesser know programs will probably cost you less money, but you will probably not get as much traffic either. The trick is to write a great ad that will make people want to click on it and combine it with low-cost keywords. If you are making money with the ads, then consider adding on some more expensive keywords. I don’t spend more than half of what I bring in on ads and this works well for me.

2. Paid traffic sites: You can pay to have somewhat targeted traffic driven to your site. If your site is new and does not contain Adsense ads yet (or a similar program) then this can be a way to spread the word quickly and inexpensively. Just be sure to read the terms of service for any affiliate program you join. Some specifically prohibit you from participating if you are using a paid traffic program to get a lot of traffic to your site.

3. PTR programs: Paid-to-read programs pay people to read emails. Basically, the program is acting as your affiliate. You pay them, they send out a great email and some of the people who read it will be interested, click on the link in the email and visit your site. Again, make sure that this is ok with any other program you may have running on your site.

Six Unbeatable Ways To Increase Traffic To Your Website

Monday, January 18th, 2010

The Internet is a revolution and all that, no doubt, but the most important thing about it is that it is a medium of making businesses. The volume of business transacted each day on the Internet is immeasurable.
More than three-fourths of the websites today are conducting some sort of business or the other. Even those websites which seemingly provide only some information on their sites are conducting some sort of business underneath all that information.
You must be having a business website too. In that case, your first intention would be to increase the traffic on your website. Obviously, the greater is the traffic, the more will be the business you will make through your site. Today, there are several techniques available to increase the traffic on websites. The following are six great ways to increase the flow of traffic on your website:-
(i) Article Marketing – Article marketing involves the writing of some keyword-rich articles that will show up on the search results. These articles are submitted to article directories with a back link of the website below them. When someone reads the article, there’s a very high chance that they will visit the website also. This is currently the most popular method of building traffic on your website.
(ii) Search Engine Optimization – SEO has become the most-heard word in the Internet world today. It simply means designing the website in such a way that it is better picked up by the popular search engines. SEO is generally done by making the webpage rich in a popular keyword.
However, designing the page format in such a way that the search engines rank it better is also a part of SEO. One way to do this is by keeping media files to a minimum on the page. Also, there should be a sizeable amount of content on the page for it to be ranked.
(iii) Forum and Blog Submissions – People with online businesses find some forums and blogs that are relating to their products. Then they participate actively on these forums and blogs by making submissions. The submissions could permit a link to their own websites. In this way, there is better exposure of the website, which could directly mean better traffic.
(iv) Link Sharing – Link sharing is a seemingly easy process, but it might be actually quite difficult to do. It is the exchange of links with some other website. In this way, a person visiting one website will probably visit the other one too, since its link is present on the webpage.
Link sharing can be both paid and free. Websites that already have a good presence on the net will put other websites’ links for a fee, while new sites will do it for free since they will also want to increase their visibilities.
(v) Directory Submissions – There are some open directories on the Internet, where websites submit their links. These directories could be both free and paid. The purpose of putting links on the directories is that the site becomes more prominent on the Internet and hence attracts better traffic.
(vi) Lead Generation – Leads are prospective clients who can make business with the website. Any information, such as email ids, of these people is also called as leads. Every website has their leads. In most cases, they would swap these leads with another website or sell them for a fee.
Then these leads could be pursued through email marketing. Through these emails, a website can invite people to visit their website. This is a much focused way of garnering some Internet traffic.
These are some of the prevailing methods online businesses use to drive traffic to their websites. After all, traffic is the most important thing for which all Internet businesses hanker.

Get Targeted Web Traffic With Keyword and Geo Content

Monday, January 11th, 2010

For those online business owners who are focused on targeted web traffic in a specific geographic location, opting for geo targeted and keyword rich content is the topmost need of the day. These two methods are very successful to generate traffic to your site and save a lot of money on unnecessary advertising sources. The choice of the content is very important to generate targeted web traffic.

It has to be compelling, interesting and simple to understand. The customer should be engaged in reading the content so that he of she will be induced to check out your site. The content should also be purposeful and seek to fulfill the objective of your site. The following is a guideline for those people who are not aware on a search engine operation’s role on targeted web traffic.

In order to get targeted web traffic, the first thing that you should do is find relevant keywords. These keywords can work wonders for your business; however, they should be implemented within the content in the correct manner. It is prudent for you to stay away from one word phrases as they make the ranking difficult. The keyword should comprise of an increasingly searched combination that specifically target your business and successively achieve all its objectives with success.

The choice of the keyword should represent your venture positively. This does not mean that you have to use keywords randomly and scatter them all over the place. The content for targeted web traffic has to be good to make it interesting and purposeful.

If you overstuff your content with too many keywords, you will compel the search engines to render your articles a “spam” status and this in turn will affect rankings. The second disadvantage is that readers deter from reading these articles because the content is irrelevant and awkward to understand. To make this hard task simple, all you have to do is to think like your users.

A little preparation has to be done and you can ensure success of targeted web traffic with them. All you need to do is make a list of the possible keywords that your user would use to search for sites. The incorporation of the keywords thus can enable quicker and more effective searches. In fact the keywords should indicate your product, the line of business and the areas of service.

Content plays a very significant role for bringing targeted web traffic and if they are not implemented properly they can defeat the purpose of their use and waste your money. You can abide by the guidelines that have been mentioned above to make your venture a very profitable one. They need to be taken into consideration effectively and need time to be incorporated properly in the search engines for maximum optimization with success.

4 Simple Ways To Massively Increase Web Traffic For Free

Wednesday, January 6th, 2010

With the advent of new technologies, it is now easier than ever to greatly increase web traffic for free. This can be accomplished by using powerful linking techniques with popular Web 2.0 sites. These techniques are so powerful that, if used properly, can actually propel your site to page 1 in Google and deliver massive traffic from other sources as well.

There are many Web 2.0 sites that you can link to for free which can help you get ranked in the search engines quickly. This can seem to be a daunting task when first getting started, but it is actually very easy to do. Once your linking system is set up, it takes very little time to maintain it.

I have compiled the top 4 ways to quickly and easily increase web traffic for free using popular Web 2.0 sites. These will get you traffic fast.

1. Social bookmarking. Social bookmarking sites are sites that allow you to “bookmark” your site (URL) on their site. These include sites like Digg.com and Del.icio.us. These sites are very popular with Google and the other search engines so they are crawled frequently – daily or even hourly. This means that your link will get noticed by the search engines very quickly. The search engines will then index your link, go to your site and index keywords, content, etc. All you have to do is fill out a short form on each site. It is very important that you use your main keyword phrase in the link title text when you enter your information in the forms. This is the quickest and easiest way to start getting search engine traffic.

For a list of the best social bookmarking sites, go to www.socialmarker.com.

2. Social networking. If you use MySpace, FaceBook, Twitter or similar sites, you are already familiar with social networking. You can use these sites to help drive traffic to your site, but the best ones to use to dramatically increase web traffic for free are Squidoo, Hubpages and Weebly. All three of these sites allow you to quickly create your own web pages for free. Be sure to use original content on these pages (Google doesn’t like duplicate content) and have them link back to your site. As with social bookmarking, be sure to use your main keyword phrase in the title link and try to use it once or twice in the content. Just make certain that it will still be easily readable to anyone who might be interested in what you have written.

Google absolutely loves these Web 2.0 sites so your page will get ranked very fast, usually within hours, which will quickly drive a lot of highly targeted traffic to your site.

3. Forum posts. Find forums in your niche to post to by doing a Google search for “[your niche] + forum.” Make sure the forum has a decent PR (2 or more) and that the signature links are dofollow links. Once you find a forum in your niche that matches those criteria, make some intelligent posts and respond to any questions, or ask your own questions. Be certain that your signature contains your main keyword phrase and a link to your main site. The more you engage in conversation with other users of the forum, the more traffic and backlinks you will receive. These backlinks will help increase your standing in Google.

4. Blog comments. Post your comments in existing authority blogs. Search for blogs in your niche the just like you searched for forums. Look for blogs with a PR of 2 or more, the higher the PR, the better. Also, make sure the blog accepts comments and the links from the commenters are dofollow links.

Once you find blogs that meet these standards, post your comments on them, but be certain that the comments are sensible and relevant to the original post. This is a good way to get a lot of backlinks on high authority sites and, once again, get noticed by the search engines.

There are many other Web 2.0 sites other than those listed here, but these are a few good ones for you to get started receiving traffic fast.

The key to being able to greatly increase web traffic for free is high quality backlinks (links on other websites pointing to your site). But be careful, not all backlinks are good. If you try to link to low quality sites, especially sites that are mostly links, you will not help increase your search engine traffic. In fact, you could even make it worse and possibly get your website banned from Google, but if you follow the instructions in this article and link to high quality Web 2.0 sites, this won’t be an issue and you will soon notice a dramatic increase in website traffic.

Your Ultimate Guide To Increase Web Traffic At No Ease

Tuesday, December 29th, 2009

Having a website without any visitors is like having a village with no people. As with all marketplaces, it is difficult to sell products if you have no market to begin with. It is important to know how you will be able to gain a recognizable figure and brand so as to draw a lot of people into buying your products. Ecommerce sites were specifically built to help a lot of companies advertise their products to the growing population in the online world.

By simply visiting a website, you get the chance to experience a virtual tour of all the merchandises that a particular company has under their belt. If you are one of those companies who are currently having trouble on how to increase web traffic, here are a few things that can help maximize your website’s visibility:

1. Have a striking brand

A brand can easily tell a lot about a certain company. By simply looking at your company’s brand, a person can judge whether or not your company has what he/she needs. Since not all people have the time and luxury in the world to fully browse on a particular website, they greatly rely on the signature of your company. Ensuring that your web page has a striking brand will help generate heavy traffic to your domain.

2. Be open to subscriptions

Feeds help consumers and other potential clients to be updated should you have new collections or products. This also widens the scope of your market and can easily help other people refer you to their families and friends. Making sure that your customers are updated will help you earn their commercial approval. As you update each and every customer in a timely manner, it will be much easier for you to increase web traffic by inviting them to your website to check on the new uploaded products and merchandises.
